Sanmar Terminal Series tugboats are 28 meter high performance twin screw ASD tugs, designed for berthing, unberthing large ships, including operations in indirect mode.

Propulsion is provided by steerable Z-drives located aft and driven by a direct shafting system from the main engies. Ship handling is performed over the bow using a hawser winch. On the aft deck a tow winch with a stample with integral tow hook and capstan are fitted for towing and yearding operaions. The hull is constructed of all-welded mild steel, in a double chine, fully developable from. The deckhouse, whelhouse and mast is fabricated in steel.

A fire-fighting capability is included , with fire-fighting pumps driven through PTOs from main engines. Vessel to be classed as Fi-Fi 1.The vessel is equipped with automation and instrumentation for normal duty operations with a crew of two, and a periodically unattended engine room.

The vessel as defined shall comply with the ABS requirements for towing vessels, escorting service.
