Sanmar has been producing tugboats and providing services for numerous countries around the world for four decades. The company celebrates its 40th year anniversary in 2016. More than 170 tugboats benefiting from all this wealth of experience are presently in operation on international seas. Sanmar builds vessels at its two custom-built, state-of-the-art yards located in Turkey’s shipbuilding heartland. It delivered 17 tugboats in 2014 and thanks to the new shipyard in Altınova, 27 in 2015 and 26 in 2016.

Sanmar Shipyards delivers new Tugboats to Abu Dhabi Ports

Sanmar Shipyards of Turkey has announced the delivery of “Al JIMI 1” (Yenicay VII) to become the latest addition to the Abu Dhabi Ports’ growing ug fleet. It already has two sister vessels, named “Al SHAHEED”(Yenicay IV) and “AlHILI 1” (Yenicay VI), which were delivered by Sanmar in 2017.

Innovative tractor design heads for New Zealand

Kinaki is the first of the Sanmar Delicay tug series and the tug is currently on its way by heavy lift ship to New Zealand from the builder’s Turkish yard. Built by Sanmar to the innovative TRAktor-Z 2500 SX (Sanmar eXclusive) design by Robert Allan Limited, the tugboat also has considerable technical input from the builder.

Mediterranean Operators Benefit From Easy Access

Sanmar has achieved considerable success in recent years with Italian based towage companies. The Turkish operator with an unparalleled tug building record has supplied 12 tugs to Italy since 2010 with several more under construction. Our company has accomplished world-class projects in the field of tugboat building and plays an important role in both national and international markets.
