VectRA AVT 3000

VectRA series tugs are high-performance Voith Schneider Propeller (VSP) tug in tractor configuration, designed for maximum efficiency in the performance of both harbour ship-handling and escorting of large ships.  The vessel is also equipped for fire-fighting and oil recovery capabilities.

Propulsion is provided by twin VSP units located forward.  The vessel is equipped with heavy duty deck equipment and fendering, appropriate to ship assist service.  Towing and ship-handling is per­formed over the stern using a high-performance, split drum winch.  Tow hooks are also installed on the aft and forward decks.

The vessel hull is constructed of all-welded mild steel, in a double chine, developable form.  The deckhouse and wheelhouse are also fabricated in steel.  The vessel will be fully outfitted for safe and efficient performance of the following tasks:

  • Ship-assist
  • Escort duty
  • External fire-fighting including waterspray and Fi-Fi 1
  • Oil recovery operations
